The Ivory Cup: Story of Mississippi through the War Between the States
The Ivory Cup: Story of Mississippi through the War Between the States
The Ivory Cup is the story of early Mississippi as seen through the eyes of young people who are leading characters in the book. The fictitious Le Brun family came to this country with the French brothers, Iberville and Bienville, who first settled what later became the state of Mississippi.
The author has featured two or more young people of each generation of the Le Brun family, and through them and their friends the story of Mississippi unfolds.
After the French and Indian War, when the English and Americans began pouring into this section, the French name Le Brun became the American name Brown.
The family is taken through seven generations, covering more than 150 years of early Mississippi history.
